Why a yacht?

The first minutes of the year, at sea

On New Year's Eve the Bosphorus shores in Istanbul are crowded, and most boat programmes are shared parties where dozens of people share one hall. On Hermes the yacht, captain and crew are yours alone.

We have a single yacht, so we can host only one group on the night of 31 December. We suggest reserving your date well ahead.

It suits groups of friends, families and couples who want to start the year together.

The night

New Year's Eve plan

We plan the departure time, duration and route with you; the aim is to welcome midnight at sea among the lights of the Bosphorus.

  • Boarding: free at Bebek Marina or Kandilli; other Bosphorus piers at extra cost.
  • Evening: food or snacks on board, decoration and a laser show if you wish.
  • Midnight: welcome the New Year on deck, on the Bosphorus.
  • Return: to Bebek or a pier of your choice.

Fireworks: the location and time of New Year's fireworks in Istanbul depend on each year's official announcements. The yacht waits at a spot the captain considers safe and traffic allows; we share the exact plan closer to the date.

Drinks: alcohol is not sold on board; you may bring your own drinks for the midnight toast. Tea, coffee and water are included.

Winter night: it can be cold on deck, so dress warmly. The saloon is an enclosed space.

The route and plan may change with weather, traffic and official rules.

Price

New Year's Eve price

Hours, duration and price on the night of 31 December are set separately from other days. Send us your group size and the catering you'd like on WhatsApp, and we'll reply with the New Year's Eve price and availability.

Boarding: free at Bebek Marina and Kandilli. Pick-up or drop-off at another Bosphorus pier costs €40 per pier plus the yacht's travel time from Bebek at the hourly rate; we confirm the amount on WhatsApp.

Prices are in euros and include VAT.

How to book

  1. Message us on WhatsAppTell us your group size, boarding pier and the catering you'd like.
  2. Pay the 30% depositOnce you accept the New Year's Eve price we send the deposit link; the night is then yours.
  3. Welcome the New Year at seaThe remaining 70% is paid on the day.

Cancellation and date changes

If your cruise is 15 or more days away, you can change the date free of charge. With less than 15 days to go, date changes depend on availability. The deposit is non-refundable if you cancel; if the cruise cannot go ahead due to bad weather, a yacht fault or an official ban, it is refunded or the date is moved. Can we charter Hermes on New Year's Eve?

Yes, on 31 December Hermes is chartered to a single group. We have one yacht, so only one booking is taken that night; message us on WhatsApp for availability.
